Himes Peak Campground

The Himes Peak Campground has 11 campsites. It provides direct access to Big Fish Trail #1819, and hiking in the Flat Tops Wilderness. Fishing in nearby Rainbow Lake and Big Fish Lake is good. Elk hunting can be very good in season.

Directions

The Himes Peak Campground is 46 miles east of Meeker, CO.

From Meeker, take Colorado Highway 13 east for 1 mile, then turn right (east) on Rio Blanco County Road 8 and follow this for 39 miles. Turn south on Trappers Lake Road #205, and continue 6 miles to the Himes Peak Campground. The Big Fish Trailhead is on the left as you enter the campground.
