Long Park #1809

The Long Park Trail connects to the Deadhorse-Long Park loop, Forest Road #230.  It also connects with Lost Park Forest Road #231, which is also open to motorcycles and ATVs from 6/21-8/31 only. From the trailhead, the trail climbs rapidly for 1/2 mile to the northeast where it reaches the crest of the ridge between the White River and Long Park Creek drainages. The trail travels through scrub oak and aspen for 1.2 miles, providing nice views of the surrounding area.  It follows Long Park Creek for the next 1.6 miles into the meadows of  Long Park, where it joins Forest Road #230 and Forest Road #231.

General Information

OHVs and snowmobiles must have a permit. Permits are issued by Colorado State Parks, and are generally not available at Forest Service offices.
Open to Motorcycles & ATVs from 6/21-8/31. From 9/1-6/20 this trail is closed to motorized travel.

Directions

The Long Park Trail is located 32 miles east of Meeker, CO. From Meeker, take Colorado State Highway 13 east for 1 mile. Turn east on Rio Blanco County Road 8 and travel for 31 miles. The Long Park-Lost Creek Trailhead is on the north side of the road just past the Lost Creek Guard Station.
