Sunlight Ski Area

Sunlight Mountain Resort is a unique winter playground that is affordable and family oriented. Sunlight has hundreds of acres for skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Sunlight’s summit on Compass Mountain in the White River National Forest, overlooks majestic Mount Sopris and the awe-inspiring Elk Mountain Range.

Amenities include a restaurant, lounge, rental and retail shop, ski school, children’s center, and snowmobile tours.

Ski and ride 749 acres, 2,010’ of vert, and 77 runs ranging from wide-open greens, cruisy blues, and The Heathen’s famous 52-degree drop. Sunlight is home to one of the longest trails in ski country, Ute, a beginner slope that winds more than 2 miles from summit to base. Sunlight also hosts some of the best tree skiing in Colorado with many aspen groves untracked days after snowfall Come explore some of Colorado’s finest tree skiing and terrain that suits both first timers and seasoned pros. Directions

From Denver, CO head west on I-70 to Glenwood Springs, which is about 150 miles from Denver. Take Exit 116 toward Glenwood Springs/Aspen. At end of exit go right. Make two right turns at consecutive traffic lights and go back over I-70. This will put you on Grand Avenue/Hwy 82 south. Go about 2 miles down Hwy 82. Turn right onto 27th Street. Go straight on 27th Street, which veers left and becomes Midland Avenue. Stay straight on Midland Avenue for about a mile where you will come to a fork in the road. Go right at the fork onto Four Mile Road / County Road 117. Stay straight on Four Mile Road for about 9 miles. Four Mile Road ends at Sunlight Mountain Resort.
