Sabino and Bear Canyon Closure Order 03-05-03-25-002
The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety and forest resources from environmental degradation.
Effective January 22, 2025, through January 21, 2028, the Santa Catalina Ranger District has implemented a closure order in the area of Bear Canyon Trail and the Wilderness boundary to the junction with Sabino Canyon Road. Please see the attached order with the description and map showing the affected areas.PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), the following are prohibited on the National Forest System (NFS) lands, roads, and trails in the Santa Catalina Ranger District, Coronado National Forest, described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A (the "Described Area/Roads/Trails"):
1. Being publicly nude. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(j).
2. Camping. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(e).
3. Possessing a beverage which is defined as an alcoholic beverage by State law. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(bb).
4. Possessing, storing, or transporting any bird, fish, or other animal or parts thereof. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(s).
5. Possessing, storing, or transporting any part of a tree or other plant. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(t).
6. Possessing or storing any glass container. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(cc).
7. Using the following types of vehicles within/on the Described Area/Roads/Trails: Motor vehicles, bicycles, tricycles, unicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, or in-line skates. 36 C.F.R. § 261.54(a), 261.55(b), and 261.56.
