Phoneline #27

Phoneline #27 is a popular trail for hikers and runners in Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. The trail smoothly contours rocky slopes of Sabino Canyon’s east side, with steep drop-offs down to the creek, and cliffs rising over 1,000 feet above. From beginning to end the trail climbs 1000 feet in 4 miles, best hiked during the cooler season of September through March, and can feel quite hot in the summer months. Most common access is hiking .8 miles on Bear Canyon Trail from the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center. Note the many trail intersections with Phoneline, starting with Bear Canyon #29 and ending at Sabino Canyon Trail #23. Popular hiking options include connecting with Blackett’s Ridge #48 and creating loop hikes with Sabino Canyon Road.
