Visitor Maps and Guides
The Kaibab National Forest offers a variety of maps available to help you navigate your way around the forest.
Maps are available in a variety of formats, including:
- Hard-copy maps (available in person at our offices)
- Digital maps that can be downloaded as PDF files
- Avenza Maps, a third-party smartphone application. Avenza Maps is a free app that allows your device's built-in GPS to track your location on a pre-downloaded map.

Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUMs)
Obtain a free hardcopy Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) at any Kaibab National Forest office. Free hardcopy MVUMs are also available at other nearby national forests.
MVUMs contains essential information about road, trail, and area designations that motorists should always have close at hand. The free published hard copy MVUM is the legal document-of-record that shows the roads, trails, and areas designated as open to motorized vehicle use on Kaibab National Forest.
Driving a motorized vehicle on roads, trails, or areas not designated for motor vehicle use is prohibited.

Travel Aid Maps For Your Desktop
Travel Aid Maps are a supplement to the MVUMs, intended for use on mobile devices and depict the same road information as the MVUM, but with added coloring and contours.

National Forests Interactive Map
Featuring an interactive map of Forest Service roads, trails, recreation sites, wilderness areas, and wild & scenic rivers. Just click on the map to get more information about that favorite site you're heading to!
Hard Copy Visitor Maps
Plastic, weather-proof map shows most Forest Service system roads and trailheads, and are a 1/2" = 1 mile scale. They are planimetric and show some spot elevations. Available from Kaibab National Forest offices and online order through the USGS online store.
