Groom Creek Horse Camp
Equestrian campers will find Groom Creek Horse Camp seven miles south of Prescott, Arizona at an elevation of 6,400 feet. The ponderosa pine setting, nearby trails and limited equestrian camping opportunities make this a popular destination. NOTICE: Forest Order #03-09-03-24-07 requires that all campers using the Groom Creek Horse Camp be accompanied by trail-riding livestock (horses and/or mules). Each campsite has a steel corral enclosure and an overhead tether line that accommodates two to four horses. Two group picnic sites are also available for reservation for group gatherings within this campground. NOTICE: Forest Order #03-09-03-24-07 requires that all campers using Groom Creek Horse Camp be accompanied by trail-riding livestock (horses and/or mules).

General Information
May 1 - October 31
- Check-in 2:00 PM or later; Check-out 12 NOON or earlier. Early arrivals can park across the street at Trailhead 307 and enjoy equestrian trails until check-in time. Those who occupy a site early are expected to pay the site fee at the same rate as an overnight visit.
- Quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Campfires in developed fire pits only
- The gathering of dead wood is allowed for campground use only
- Fireworks are prohibited
- Dogs must be on leash (6' maximum)
- OHV/ATV use prohibited in the campground
- Maximum length of stay: 14 days in 30-day period on the Prescott National Forest including stays at dispersed recreation sites.
- All smoking must be done within enclosed vehicles, buildings, or developed fee recreation sites where the area is cleared of all flammable material
Overnight Use:
Single Site: $18/night.
Double Site: $36/night.
Additional Vehicle: $5/vehicle.
Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount to Single Campsites ONLY.

Directions
From downtown Prescott, take Gurley Street east to Mt. Vernon Avenue. Take Mt. Vernon (Senator Highway, Forest Road #52) south for approximately 6.5 miles to Groom Creek. The Horse Camp is just 0.7 miles south of the center of Groom Creek. Trailhead for Groom Creek Loop Trail #307 is east across Forest Road #52 from the campground.
