Jacks Creek Campground

No drinking water currently available. Please bring your own potable water for the duration of your trip. New water systems are anticipated to be installed in 2025.

Located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains this 39 site campground is near the Pecos Wilderness Area, which features 160,000 acres of majestic mountain scenery, high mountain lakes and the Pecos River, and is forested with fir trees intermixed with aspens, which shimmer with golden foliage in the fall. A variety of wildlife, such as elk, mule deer, migratory birds, and other raptors inhabit the nearby Forest. Hikers find this location convenient to the popular Pecos Wilderness Areas trails which can be easily accessed from the campground. Beatty's Trail #25 begins near the campground at the Jacks Creek Trailhead down the road.
