Aloe Vera Staging Area

Aloe Vera Staging Area provides parking for trailers and vehicles along 144th Street. This staging area is primarily for equestrian and non-motorized users. Motorized users should access the Desert Vista OHV Permit Zone from the Westland access north on 144th Street or Ranch Road OHV Staging Area south on 144th Street.

When riding, hiking, or mountain biking in this area, please use existing paths and do not damage vegetation or other desert resources. Every rock, cactus, or palo verde may be home to an animal! Follow the Tread Lightly principles and Pack-it-in Pack-it-out.

Year-round

Staging Area is day-use only. Camping may be allowed outside of the staging area (not blocking roads/trails, etc.).

No passes or OHV Permits are required for vehicles parked in the Staging Area.

Permits are required for motorized vehicle use in the Desert Vista OHV Permit Zone directly to the east. For more information on when a permit is required, see the FAQ sheet. Purchase an OHV Permit at Recreation.gov. Permits are as follows:

3-day Permit: $10
6-month Permit: $60
Annual Permit: $80

Restrictions

No overnight camping and no campfires in the staging area
14 day stay limit in other Forest areas outside the staging area
Pack-it-in Pack-it-out!
Target Shooting: Target Type restrictions are in place. Only target shoot with approved targets. Click here for more information on approved targets and to view the closure order.

No fees are required at the Aloe Vera Staging Area.

Exit AZ-101 at North Pima Rd.
Continue North on Pima Road to East Dynamite Blvd.
Head East on Dynamite Blvd as it turns into Rio Verde Drive.
Head North on North 144th Street.
The Staging Area is approximately 2.8 miles on your right at the junction of Aloe Vera Drive & 144th Street.
