Aquarius Guard Station Cabin
The Aquarius Guard Station cabin is located about 15 miles south of Loa, in eastern Utah. It sits on the west side of beautiful Boulder Mountain, which makes up half of the expansive Aquarius Plateau. The cabin was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937 and was used by generations of Forest Service employees working in the surrounding back country. The two-room cabin can sleep four people, hosting one double bed and a bunk bed set. No bedding is provided and visitors will need to come prepared with their own sheets and blankets. The kitchen has a wood cook stove and a propane stove with oven. There is no refrigerator so coolers with ice are recommended. Potable water is available in the cabin and at a hydrant outside the cabin during the operating season of June - September. The site can accommodate a maximum of 20 people in tents and self-contained RV's.
