OCCUPANCY AND USE


PROHIBITIONS


Pursuant to Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations 261.S0(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited in
the area described in this order, all within the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, Humbolt-
Toiyabe National Forest until further notice.


1. Building, maintain, attending or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire {36 CFR 261.52(a)}
2. Possessing or using a vehicle off National Forest System Roads {36 CFR 26+1.56}
3. Camping {36 CFR 261.58(e)}
4. Using the area by a group of 25 persons or more {36 CFR 261.58(f}}
5. Being in the Area after sundown or before sunrise {36 CFR 261.58(1)}
6. Discharging a firearm, air rifle or gas gun {36 261.58 (m}}
7. Possessing, storing or transporting any animal that is not under physical constraint
8. {36 CFR 261.58(s)}


EXEMPTIONS


Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.S0(e), the following persons are exempt from this order.


1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer , or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in
the performance of an official duty.
3. Persons using a stove/barbeque solely fueled by petroleum or LPG fuels capable of being
turned off.


AREA DESCRIBED:
Lee Canyon Meadows within the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, Humboldt-Toiyabe
National Forest.

PURPOSE: 


The purpose of this standard is to "Conserve the health, diversity, integrity and beauty of the ecosystem
(meadow). This order is also designed to promote protect public health, and safety.


IMPLEMENTATION:


1. This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until terminated.
2. Exhibit A, Map is attached and incorporated into this order.
3. Violation of these prohibitions is punishable as a class B misdemeanor, by a fine of not more
than $5000.00 for an individual or $10,000.00 for an organization and/or imprisonment of not more
than 6 months [Title 16 USC 551, 18 USC 3571{b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581(b)(7)].
