Council Mountain Area, Council Ranger District

The Council Mountain Area is on the Council Ranger District.  The Middle Fork of the Weiser River is accessed on County Road 186 approximately 5 miles south of Council.  The road travels through private lands, then becomes Forest Service Road #186.

Council Mountain can be accessed approximately 3 miles south of Council on County Road 199.  This road also travels through private lands before reaching the Forest and becomes Forest Service Road #199.

The area has many parcels of private land, so make sure you know where you are!
