SPECIAL ORDER OF FOREST SUPERVIOSR
FOREST WIDE CAMPING STAY LIMIT
PROHIBITIONS:
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following acts are prohibited on the National Forest System lands as described in this Order. All lands affected are located within the Uinta-Wasatch- Cache National Forests. This order is in effect August 19, 2022 and shall remain in effect through August 19, 2032.
- No person, tenet, camper, trailer, or other type of mobile home may occupy any developed site of National Forest Land for more than seven (7) consecutive days in one location on the Logan, Ogden, Salt Lake, Pleasant Grove, Spanish Fork and Heber/Kamas Ranger Districts Ogden, or for more that fourteen (14) consecutive days in one location on the Evanston/Mt. View, Ranger District in any thirty (30) day consecutive period. [36 CFR 261.58(a)]
- No person, tent, camper, trailer, or other type of mobile home may occupy any general undeveloped area of National Forest Lands for more than fourteen (14) days in any thirty (30) day consecutive period. [36 CFR 261.58(a)]
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this order:
- Persons with special use authorizations or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this order.
- Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this order.
- Any Federal, State or local law enforcement officer or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
AREA DESCRIBED:
All National Forest System located within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forests, shown on attached map.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this order is for the protection of natural resources and the enhancement of recreational opportunities for all National Forest System users.
IMPLEMENTATION:
- This Order will be in effect when signed August 19, 2022 and shall remain in effect until August 19, 2032.
- Violation of the above prohibition(s) is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual, or $10,000 for an organization and/or imprisonment for not more than 6months. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581(b)(7)].

- This Order supersedes any previous Order(s) prohibiting the same, or similar acts prohibited by this Order in the areas (and/or roads or trails) covered by this Order.
