CAMPFIRE CLOSURE ORDER

PROHIBITIONS:

Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following acts are prohibited within the areas shown on the attachments and described in this order within the Roosevelt-Duchesne, Kamas, and Evanston-Mountain View Ranger Districts of both the Ashley and Wasatch-Cache National Forests. This order is in effect until further notice.

1. Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, or wood stove fire. [36 CFR 261.52 (a)]

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

1. Persons with a Forest Service special-use authorization specifically exempting them from this order.
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty with written authorization from either the Ashley or Wasatch-Cache National Forest Supervisor.
3. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty with written authorization from either the Ashley or Wasatch-Cache National Forest Supervisor.
4. Persons building, maintaining, attending or using a charcoal briquette fire contained in a fire-proof pan.
5. Information may also be obtained at the Kamas Ranger District of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest located in Kamas, UT, (435) 783-4338 and at the Evanston-Mountain View Ranger District of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest located in Mountain View, WY, (307) 782-6555.
6. This order supersedes any previous orders prohibiting the same, or similar acts prohibited by this order in the areas covered by this order. This includes Order # 0419106, signed by Bernie Weingardt on 07/02/1999, and Order# 041946, signed by Pam Gardiner for Bernie Weingardt on 05/09/1997, which had applied to the Evanston-Mountain View and Kamas Ranger Districts, respectively.
