PROHIBITED TARGETS

PROHIBITIONS:
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following acts are prohibited on the National Forest System lands as described in this Order. All lands affected are located within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forests. This order is in effect July 22, 2022 and shall remain in effect through July 22, 2032.
1. Discharging a firearm, air rifle, gas gun or any other implement capable of taking human life, causing injury, or damaging any property on or within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forests System Land at any object, either solid, liquid, vapor, or particulate that will shatter, break apart, fragment, ignite, or explode, that may create a hazard or nuisance (such as Tannerite, televisions, computers, propane tanks, glass bottles, etc.) to any persons, property, public lands, wildlife or livestock.

EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this order:
1. Persons with special use authorizations or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this order.
2. Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this order.
3. Any Federal, State or local law enforcement officer or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.


AREA DESCRIBED:
All National Forest System Lands located within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forests, shown on attached map.


PURPOSE:
Purpose of the Order is to prevent resource damage, littering, illegal dumping, vandalism, wildfires and to ensure public health and safety.


IMPLEMENTATION:
1. This Order will be in effect July 22, 2022 and shall remain in effect until July 22, 2032.
2. Violation of the above prohibition(s) is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000
for an individual, or $10,000 for an organization and/or imprisonment for not more
than 6 months. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581(b)(7)].
3. Further information regarding this Order may be obtained at the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forests, Supervisors Office, 857 West South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah (801) 999-2103
4. This Order supersedes any previous Order(s) prohibiting the same, or similar acts prohibited by this Order in the areas (and/or roads or trails) covered by this Order.
