PLEASANT GROVE RANGER DISTRICT

 

SEASONAL TRAILS CLOSURE

 

PROHIBITIONS:

 

Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following acts are prohibited on Forest developed trails as described in this Order, all within the Pleasant Grove Ranger District, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This order is in effect until further notice.

  1. Using bicycles, motorized vehicles and livestock on the trails as described below when signed and/or posted closed.

EXEMPTIONS:

 

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this order:

 

  1. Persons with special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
  2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
  3. Federal or State administrative personnel in performance of an official duty.

 

AREA DESCRIBED:

 

Forest Service Trails known as Mill Canyon (Forest Trail #040), Tibble Fork (Forest Trail #041), Pine Hollow (Forest Trail #047), Salamander Flat (Forest Trail #150), Ridge (Forest Trail #157), Mud Springs (Forest Trail #173), Willow Hollow (Forest Trail #159) and South Fork Deer Creek (Forest Trail #152) See attached map.

 

PURPOSE:

 

Purpose of the Closure is to prevent resource damage to the trails because of extensive recreation use in wet areas. The trails will remain closed until they are dry enough to support bicycles, motorized vehicles and livestock.

 

IMPLEMENTATION:

 

l.    This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until further notice.

  1. Attached map shows the tails affected by this Order.
  2. Violation of the above prohibition(s) is punishable by a fine of not more than

$5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization and/or imprisonment for not more than 6months imprisonment. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 357l(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581(b)(7)].

  1. Further information regarding this Order may be obtained at the Pleasant Grove Ranger District, Pleasant Grove, Utah (801) 785-3563 and the Uinta­ Wasatch-Cache National Forest Supervisors, Salt Lake City Office, (801) 236-3400.
  2. This Order supersedes any previous Order(s) prohibiting the same, or similar acts prohibited by this Order in the areas (and/or trails or roads) covered by this Order.
