UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST

                                                     TIBBLE FORK AREA CAMPFIRE CLOSURE 

 

PROHIBITIONS:

Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following acts are prohibited in the National Forest System area as described in this order. All lands within the area affected are located on the Pleasant Grove Ranger District, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This order is in effect from June 22, 2022 through June 22, 2027.

  1. Building, maintain, attending, or using a fire, campfire, or wood stove fire within/upon Â¼ mile of the Tibble Fork Reservoir area as described below and as shown on attached map.
    [36 CFR 261.52(a)]

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this order:

  1. Persons with special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
  2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
  3. Federal or State administrative personnel in performance of an official duty.

AREA DESCRIBED:

Tibble Fork Reservoir area located in Township 4 South, Range 3 East, Sections 7 and 8 all within the Salt Lake Base Meridian, as shown on map.

PURPOSE:

Purpose of the Closure is to prevent deterioration of water quality, loss of vegetation, accumulations of litter, unsightly fire scars, trampled areas around the reservoir, streams and roadways, and the increased risk of wildfires.

IMPLEMENTATION:

  1. This Order will be in effect when signed from June 22, 2022 through June 22, 2027.
  2. Attached map shows the areas affected by this Order.
  3. Violation of the above prohibition(s) is punishable by a fine of not more than$5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization and/or imprisonment for not more than 6months imprisonment. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571(b) (6), Title 18 USC 358l(b) (7)].
  4. Further information regarding this Order may be obtained at the Pleasant Grove Ranger District Office, Pleasant Grove, Utah (801) 785-3563 or the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Supervisors Office, South Jordan, Utah (801) 999-2103,
  5. This Order supersedes any previous Order(s) prohibiting the same, or similar acts prohibited by this Order in the areas (and/or roads or trails) covered by this Order.
