PROHIBITIONS:
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following acts are prohibited on the National Forest System lands roads and trails as described in this Order. All roads and trails affected are located within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forests. This order is in effect July 22, 2022 and shall remain in effect through July 22, 2032.
1. Operating a vehicle in violation Utah State Law, to wit; Title 41 and Title 53 of the Utah Motor Vehicles Traffic Codes. [36 CFR 261.54(d)]
2. Operating a vehicle in violation Utah State Law, to wit; Title 42 and Title 53 of the Utah Motor Vehicles Traffic Codes. [36 CFR 261.55(d)]
3. Operating a vehicle carelessly, recklessly, or without regard for the rights or safety of other persons or in a manner or at speed that would endanger or be likely to endanger any person or property. [36 CFR 261.54(f)]
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this order:
1. Persons with special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
3. Federal or State administrative personnel in performance of an official duty.
AREA DESCRIBED:
All National Forest System roads and trails of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this order is to protect the resource and the public’s health, well-being, and safety.
IMPLEMENTATION:
1. This Order will be in effect July 22, 2022 and shall remain in effect until July 22, 2032.
2. Exhibit A, “Definitions,” is attached and incorporated into this order.
3. Violation of the above prohibition(s) is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000
for an individual, or $10,000 for an organization and/or imprisonment for not more
than 6months. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581(b)(7)].
4. Further information regarding this Order may be obtained at the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Supervisors Office, 857 West South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah (801) 999-2103
5. This Order supersedes any previous Order(s) prohibiting the same, or similar acts prohibited by this Order in the areas (and/or roads or trails) covered by this Order.
