Clegg Canyon Trail #079

Clegg Canyon Trail takes you through meadows, evergreens, and aspens. At both ends, the 4.2-mile trail is relatively flat but is steeper in the middle. The trail is easy to follow. Along the lower part of the canyon, the trail crosses some rock slides and a rocky seasonal creek bed creating some hazordous footing. Aspen, evergreens, and a variety of wildflowers are found along the trail.

Connecting Trails: Dry Canyon Trail via Forest Road #094 and Center Canyon Trail via Forest Road #095.

General Information

Access: From I-15 take Orem 800 North Exit 272. Follow 800 North to the mouth of Provo Canyon veering to the left, where you tie into Highway 189 in Provo Canyon. It is approximately 22 miles from the mouth of the canyon to Heber. Turn right at the Junction of Highways 189 and 40. Follow Highway 40 up Daniels Canyon. The trailhead is located approximately 7.6 miles up Daniels Canyon. Parking is available along Highway 40. The trailhead is located at the upper end of Forest Road 094 near the Hogsback Enclosure. No water or other facilities are available.
