Mill A Basin Trail #153
USGS Quad - Mount Aire. Elevation gain is 1,680 feet. Major destinations include Mount Raymond and Gobblers Knob. Trail branches off the Butler Fork Trail and the Desolation Trail. The Mill A Basin Trail can connect you with the Desolation, Bowman Fork, and Butler Fork trails. As you climb in the basin there is a vista of Mineral Fork and Mill B South Fork across the canyon.

Trail Length: 1.53 miles
Watershed: Salt Lake City Watershed Restrictions apply and are strictly enforced. Backcountry camping is not permitted within 200 ft of any open water (lakes, streams, etc). Pets are not allowed at all (not even in your car!). Swimming is not allowed in lakes or streams. Visitors must carry out everything they bring in, including food scraps and fruit peels. Follow general ""Leave No Trace"" guidelines for disposal of human waste. Pollution of any kind will not be accepted. Watershed regulations are enforced by the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, the Salt Lake City Water Department, the Salt Lake City - County Health Department, the US Forest Service, and the Alta Marshal's Office. Violations constitute a Class ""B"" misdemeanor and in most cases a citation is issued to violators. Wilderness: Trail enters a designated wilderness area. Special regulations apply when in Wilderness areas including limiting group sizes to 10 or less, no mechanized use (including Mountain Bikes), and using Leave No Trace techniques are recommended.

Directions
Access #1: Via Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (7000 South Wasatch Blvd) about 8.2 miles up the canyon to Butler Fork Trailhead (north side of the road, left). Take Butler Fork Trail about 1/2 mile to junction with Mill A Basin Trail and turn west (left).Access #2: Via Desolation Trail from Mill B North Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon or from Porter Fork or Thayne Canyon in Mill Creek Canyon (3800 South Wasatch Blvd).
