Year-round Volunteer Organizations

  • Eldorado National Forest Interpretive Association (ENFIA) - www.enfia.org - ENFIA is a nonprofit all-volunteer organization that is dedicated to helping the Eldorado National Forest serve the public. ENFIA members play an important role in promoting and maintaining public lands through our outlets and volunteer activities. Members volunteer at Carson Pass Information Station, the Forest Walker program, and forest offices
  • Eldorado Backcountry Ski Patrol (EBSP) (formerly El Dorado Nordic Ski Patrol) - www.ebsp.org - EDNSP is a volunteer backcountry ski and snowshoe patrol associated with the Eldorado National Forest.  Our members come from many different backgrounds and experiences.  However, we all share a love of the outdoors and of skiing and snowshoeing.  We work together to assist the public by marking and maintaining trails, patrolling backcountry areas and providing winter-safety educational programs to the public.
  • Desolation Wilderness Volunteers (DWV) - www.desowv.org - We are a volunteer organization working side by side with the US Forest Service and are stationed mainly out of the Pacific Ranger District in the Eldorado National Forest; however, we also work out of the Taylor Creek Ranger Station in South Lake Tahoe. We are educators, truck drivers, students, sales-people, state workers, retirees, and more! We wear many hats, but what we all have in common is that we love the wilderness, we want to give back to the community, and we want to preserve the wilderness for future generations.
  • Mokelumne Wilderness Volunteers (MWV) - The Mokelumne volunteers are stationed out of the Amador Ranger District office in Pioneer and focus on wilderness trails, education, and monitoring.
