Traveling in Bear Country

Historically, there has been a high level of bear activity at Pumice Flat Campground. A bear-proof locker is located at each site at Pumice Flat Campground. All food and scented items must be stored in the lockers. All trash must be disposed of in the bear proof trash receptacles. Do not store food, trash or scented items in your vehicle.

Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

Campers may drive into Reds Meadow Valley; however an amenity fee applies. Active bear area, bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48"x 30"x 36").

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $32 per night
Additional Vehicle Fee: $10 per vehicle per night

Dogs must be leashed in all developed recreation sites.

Directions

Take US 395 to State Highway 203. Head west to and through the town of Mammoth Lakes. At the 2nd traffic light, turn right onto Minaret and continue up the mountain past Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge and Minaret Vista Station.
