Pumice Vegetation Management Project
The Forest is preparing an environmental assessment for the proposed Pumice Vegetation Management Project. This project was developed to address conditions of deteriorating forest health, increasing hazardous fuel, and reduced ecological diversity, all caused by a century of fire exclusion and past management activities. The proposed action will treat approximately 6,240 acres within the 9,310-acre project boundary. Comments received within 30 days of the publication of the legal notice to the Siskiyou Daily News (and posted on the project website) will be assured consideration in the next phase of project planning.
