Camping & Cabins

The Klamath National Forest has 34 campgrounds and 10 picnic areas including some sites that are wheelchair accessible and some for horses and their riders.

Additionally, there are many dispersed camping areas on the Forest.  The Forest's Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM) depict short routes that often lead to dispersed campsites.

A California Campfire Permit is required if you wish to build a fire, use a BBQ or stove anywhere in the forest, except in developed campgrounds.  Fire restrictions may be in place and may prohibit fires, BBQs or stoves when fire danger is high.

It is your responsibility to know the current fire danger level and to obtain the permit. Learn more about using fire safely and get your permit online here.
