Hiking

The Klamath National Forest offers opportunities for hikers and backpackers to enjoy an extensive trail system, with most of the trails in Wilderness Areas.  The Forest contains all or portions of five Wilderness Areas with over 1,000 miles of trails including four National Recreation Trails: Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT), Boundary NRT, Kelsey NRT, and the Clear Creek NRT.

Hikers can explore many areas where they will encounter few, if any, other visitors.  When enjoying the back country, please do your part to mitigate human caused impacts by using Leave No Trace (LNT) techniques.

Day Hiking

Day hiking can be short strolls on paved paths or long climbs up to high ridge lines or peaks with great views. There are countless opportunities for hiking in unique areas of scenic beauty within the Klamath National Forest.  Not all trails are well marked.  Take a good map and compass on all hikes.
