Camp Discovery Group Campground

The campground is located just outside of Red Bluff, CA.  Campground has 11 screen cabins, showers, dishwashing facilities, vault toilets, amphitheater, two cabanas with picnic tables, preparation tables, secure storage areas, lighting and four large grills.  Additional tent camping is available under the small conifer forest at the same location. There are Sycamore, Oak, and Cottonwood shade trees. Other visitor facilities include a campground, 4.2 miles of trail, boat ramp and the Sacramento River Discovery Center.

Reservations accepted on recreation.gov only. Please see Rules and Reservation Policies for information about the cancellation and reservation change policies. Camp Discovery is an overnight facility. Maximum capacity is 100 people. Fee is $175 per night. Hours are 2PM – 11AM. To request an early check in time, please call Paige Whitney, Assistant District Recreation Officer, at 530-934-1167.

Group Site: $175/night (1 -100 people). Parties may elect to use the facilities for any amount of time (day only or overnight) during the rental period.

Directions

The Recreation Area is located adjoining the Sacramento River, just two miles from Red Bluff, CA.

Arriving from the South, take the Lassen, Highway 36 exit at Red Bluff or coming from the Redding area heading South on I-5 take the Antelope Blvd - Lassen Highway 36 exit, there will be a Forest Service sign on right. Take the first road to the right which is Sale Lane (at the lights).

Coming from the Chico area heading North on 99E. 99E turns into Antelope Boulevard. At the second light turn left onto Sale Lane. There will be apartments on right and a residential area on left, keep going (about a 2 miles) to the Red Bluff Recreation Area. Mendocino National Forest sign will be on the right at the entrance.
