Forest Supervisor

Current Smith River National Recreation Area District Ranger, Kathy Allen, will be serving as Acting Forest Supervisor as Ted McArthur temporarily takes on the role of Acting Deputy Regional Forester for Fire and Aviation. 

Kathy, a Humboldt native and a graduate of Humboldt State University, embarked on her extensive federal service career more than 35 years ago. In addition to her current role, which she has held since 2022, she recently served as Acting Forest Supervisor on the Lassen National Forest. In addition, Kathy brings extensive experience from her role as the Forest Civil Rights Officer at the Six Rivers National Forest and served as a District Ranger in the Powers Ranger District within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.
