Current Conditions (Updated June 2025)
June 2025 | Central Oregon Combined Off Highway Vehicle Operations (COHVOPS) staff have finished logging out the open trails in East Fort Rock and are making their way through the Three Trails area. Dozer operations are occurring in the East Fort Rock Trails System. Watch for operation sandwich board signs at trail junctions.
The Firestone & Flat Top Fires Emergency Closure is still in place for public safety as heavy machinery operations are underway.
Stage 1 Public Use Fire Restrictions are in place across Central Oregon public lands. OHV staging areas are NOT developed sites when checking public use fire restrictions.

Class IV side-by-sides (SxS) are only allowed on shared use roads while within the OHV system boundaries. Central Oregon OHV trails are designated for Class I and III vehicles only. The flow, safety, and long term trail maintenance of existing trails were not engineered for Class IV, including single seater side-by-sides. Please refer to OHV system maps and Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUMs) to find legal routes.
