This page contains information on safety, area and location closures, and forest orders issued for the Fremont-Winema National Forest.
Forest Orders are legal prohibitions, which are issued by a National Forest Officer. They are issued when the Forest Officer considers them necessary for the protection or administration of the National Forest or for promotion of public health, safety, or welfare. Each order includes a specific type of occupancy or use, period of time, and location.
General Prohibitions for all Forest Service Lands
The following regulation describes general prohibitions, closures and regulations for acts or omissions within the National Forest System or on a National Forest System road or trail: 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 251.

National Forest System Road 34 Partial Closure
The Fremont-Winema National Forest planned culvert replacement project starts Aug 1, 2026, on Forest Road 34 just past Mitchell Monument Documentary Site. The road will be temporarily closed and not passable during the replacement. -
