Sno-Park: Pineside

In a mature and varied forest setting interspersed with mountain meadows and geographic features, this park is near the Mt. Adams Wilderness. Here visitors will find access to trails leading to remote forest lakes, high-mountain elevations and some of the most spectacular country found anywhere.

This Sno-Park offers 20 miles of groomed ski and snowshoe trails (non-motorized use only). There are no groomed snowmobile trails out of this Sno-Park, however, some motorized users access non-groomed terrain from this Sno-Park.

General Information

A valid Washington State Sno-Park Permit is required December 1 to March 31. Sno-Park permits are available to purchase online and also at Ashford Valley Grocery in Ashford, Trout Lake Grocery in Trout Lake and the Chelatchie Prairie General Store in Amboy.

  • Sno-park permits help pay for snow removal, trail grooming, sanitation facilities, mapping, trail signs, safety education, enforcement and program administration.

Motorized vehicles are not allowed in the nearby Mt. Adams Wilderness.

  • Violations of 36 CFR 261 may result in confiscation of equipment, fines up to $5,000.00, and/or six months in jail.

Directions

From White Salmon, WA, take State Route 14 west for a few miles to Highway 141 and turn north and travel about 23 miles to Trout Lake, WA. At Trout Lake, WA stay right at the gas station and head towards Mt. Adams Recreation area. Stay on Mt Adams Road for a few miles and go right on Forest Road 82. The Sno-Park is at the junction of Forest Road 82 and 8225.

Parking

Parking lot capacity is 20 vehicles.  This site is in a remote forest setting. The parking area is flat, but terrain will be difficult, especially in winter.
