  • Winter Road Closures

Due to large amounts of snowfall the gates along the fallowing roads will be closed for the winter season. This routine seasonal gate closure is important for public safety as these roads are not maintained and become hazardous in the winter.

    Sno-Parks:

Roads that lead to a Sno-Park will remain open. Plowing contracts for these roads are scheduled to begin December 1st, 2024, for all Sno-Parks.

To find a Sno-Park near you visit: Find Sno-Parks | Washington State Parks

For more information on winter activities and Sno-Parks on the GPNF see: Gifford Pinchot National Forest - Winter Sports

Winter Driving and Safety: Be aware that winter weather in the forest can change rapidly and that most forest roads are not maintained for winter driving. Forest staff recommend bringing traction devices and a shovel, extra food, drinking water, winter clothing, blankets, a flashlight, and a first aid kit.
