Trailhead: Crofton Ridge West

Provides access to: The west end of Crofton Butte Trail #73 which traverses a southern portion of Mt. Adams Wilderness.

This trailhead has limited parking and a few pullouts.

Trailhead is located in an area burned by the 2024 Williams Mine fire.

Wilderness Permit required when entering Mt. Adams Wilderness. Free self-issue Wilderness Permit available at trailhead. 

Wilderness Regulations apply within Mt. Adams Wilderness.

Directions

From Trout Lake, WA head north towards Mount Adams and drive about 8.5 miles north on Forest Road 23. Then turn right (east) onto Forest Road 8031. Continue 1.4 miles on Forest Road 8031 to Spur Road 8031-050. Turn left and drive about 2 miles to the trailhead on the left (at 4200 feet).
