Forest Service Roads 6522 and 6525 Temporary Closure
Forest Service Road 6525 and sections of Forest Service Road 6522 will be temporary closed starting August 1 - 31, 2025. The closure includes four miles of Forest Service Road 6522 beginning at the Johnson Creek bridge to the Forest Service Road 6525 intersection located in T26N R12E Sections 4 and 9 and T27N R12E sec 33. The closure area includes 240 acres centered on Forest Service Road 6525 extending to the Wild Sky Wilderness in the Swedaxali co-management area.

Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551, 25 U.S.C. § 3054, and 36 CFR § 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the Skykomish Ranger District, Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest as described below and shown in Exhibit A. This order will be effective from August 1, 2025 through August 31, 2025, unless rescinded sooner.
PROHIBITION:
- Going into or being on FSR 6525 and FSR 6522 at the Johnson Creek crossing and the surrounding area, as described below and shown on the attached map, Exhibit A. [36 CFR 261.53(g)]
CLOSURE AREA DESCRIPTION: The closure of FSR 6525 and four miles of FSR 6522 beginning at the Johnson Creek bridge to the FSR 6525 intersection located in T26N R12E Sections 4 and 9 and T27N R12E sec 33. The closure area includes 240 acres centered on the 6525 road extending to the Wild Sky Wilderness in the Swedaxali co-management area. (See Exhibit A).
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
- Any enrolled member of the Tulalip Tribes and their guests.
- Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Persons with a Valid Forest Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order (Form FS-7700-48), specifically exempting them from this order.
This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
Violations of this prohibition are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both (16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3551, 3571, and 3581). Executed in Everett, Washington, this 25th of July, 2025.
