Bedal Campground

This campground offers a more primitive, quiet camping experience just off the main road. Situated along the Sauk River in old growth forest, were every campsite can hear the rushing water. Activities in the area include fishing, white water rafting, hiking, and bicycle riding.

General Information

A picnic table, tent pad and fire ring is available at each campsite. A large (18 feet by 18 feet) adirondack shelter built of old growth timber is available.Garbage service is available. Vault toilets. No drinking water available, so bring your own supplies. The campground is normally hosted by a host stationed at Clear Creek campground from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant will be visiting the campground two to four times daily. Some of the campsites in Bedal are available with reservations; others are available on a first served basis.

Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

  • Camping: 50% discount for single site camping with any of these passes: Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age, or Golden Access pass.
  • Day use: Northwest Forest Pass or Interagency Pass

Large motor homes and trailers not recommended. Max vehicle length: 32ft. Dogs on leash only.

Directions

Heading from Darrington travel 16 miles southeast on the graveled single lane section of the Mt. Loop Scenic Byway. The campground is located on the west side of the road at mile post 37, just beyond the junction of Mt. Loop and Forest Road #49.
