Perry Creek Trail 711

Hike a mile through big cedar and Douglas fir trees with occasional glimpses of Big Four rising dramatically across the South Fork Stillaguamish river valley. Continue on the old roadway for 0.25 miles to the old trailhead, entering a stand of second-growth hemlock. Once you break out of the trees, the trail is rocky but well defined. Climb continuously, but not steeply, through timber and open talus slopes covered with an outstanding assortment of ferns in a rich botanical area.

Views of the many waterfalls across the valley are spectacular. The falls, at 2.9 miles, provide a picnic and resting spot. From here pass through old-growth forest for another 1.7 miles until you reach the first meadow. The trail continues through the meadows, which provide experienced mountain climbers access to 6,005-foot Mt. Forgotten. The views from the meadows are spectacular: north to Mt. Baker, east to Glacier Peak and south to Mt Rainier.
