  • Flooding & landslides across forest

Substantial rainfall has fallen on Mt. Hood National Forest and surrounding areas this week.  This has brought many trees down over roads, localized flooding, and the possibility of slides and rockfall.

DEC. 18 UPDATE: Please avoid traveling on roads that have experienced heavy rain and winds through the next few days.  We don't want people to get stuck behind downed trees.

Burned areas have an increased likelihood of landslides, mudslides, flash floods, and debris flows. Hikers always assume risks when entering trails in natural areas, but in burned areas those risks are greater. Please know the risks and use extreme caution when recreating in burned areas.
