Cobbler II Timber Sale and Fuels Reduction Project - Revised from an EA to an EIS

Vegetation treatments that include 2500 acres of timber harvest and fuels treatments, 8000 acres of landscape prescribed fire, hardwood and meadow restoration, 1900 acres of non-commercial thinning. The Forest Service decided to initiate the Cobbler II Project and issue an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the project. The Record of Decision was signed October 8, 2010. An administrative appeal was received on this project. Implementation of the project was automatically stayed until the appeals process was completed. On January 27, 2011, Forest Supervisor Kevin Martin withdrew his decision to approve this project. The administrative appeal was dismissed due to the decision being withdrawn. **** **** **** **** A Supplemental EIS (SEIS) is currently being prepared for this project.
