Natural Inquirer - The Natural Inquirer is a middle school science education journal! Scientists report their research in journals, which enable scientists to share information with one another. This journal, the Natural Inquirer, was created so that scientists can share their research with middle school students. Each article tells you about scientific research conducted by scientists in the USDA Forest Service.

Tread Lightly - Tread Lightly! has made lessons and activities available as free downloads from each of our educational pieces. Please utilize any or all of these lessons in your teaching situation.

If Trees Could Talk - 11-module, middle school curriculum gives teachers the opportunity to download social studies activities that are based upon archival materials. The centerpiece of each module is a compilation of primary resources--documents, maps, newspaper articles, oral histories or photographs--from which students will be asked to gather, examine, and analyze information, and synthesize insights.

The Forest Service has recently launched a brand new Conservation Education web site. This site is dedicated to educators - both formal and non-formal. We invite you to visit this excellent wealth of information and take advantage of the varied resources provided. Topics include wildlife and wildlands, Nature Watch, More Kids in the Woods and more!  There are links to programs and materials, contests and where to order Smokey Bear materials.
