General Information
The Forest Service intends to advertise timber designated for cutting in the following proposed timber sale area on the Mark Twain National Forest, Potosi Ranger District. The Flatwoods Tornado area of disturbance is located within T37N, R1W, Sections 12 and 13 and T37N, R1E, Sections 5, 7 and 8. The Potosi Ranger District is proposing 5 sales within the path, varying in size from 34 to 89 acres. The combined preliminary estimated volume is 4,159 CCF of damaged timber that is designated for cutting.
Below is a list of important items specific to these sale offerings:
- These bid openings will be at the Potosi Ranger District Office at 10019 West Highway 8, Potosi, MO
- Bids will only be received at the Potosi Ranger District Office before or at the time of said bid opening
- Anticipated advertisement for the first two sales will be May 15th with the bid opening on May 28th
- There will be a Purchaser pre-bid meeting to discuss these tornado sale offerings on May 22nd at the Potosi Ranger District Office Warehouse Conference Room from 1 PM to 3 PM
- Anticipated advertisement for the final three sales is May 22nd with the bid openings on June 5th

This advance notice is to offer interested parties time to begin examination of the sales and preliminary sale data prior to the final advertisement. Interested parties may obtain information and maps about the sales from the Potosi Ranger District Office by calling 573-438-5427. These sales will be advertised for two weeks to expedite timber removal. The final advertisement will contain final minimum stumpage rates, bidding provisions, and other sale conditions.
