Changes to Timber Sale Announcements

Notice to Bidders!

The Ottawa National Forest will be making two changes to our Timber Sale Announcements. These changes will become effective September 1, 2024.

Timber Sale Announcements

After September 1, 2024, the Ottawa National Forest will no longer be announcing upcoming Timber Sale or Stewardship Contracts in the Daily Mining Gazette. Advertised Timber Sale or Stewardship Contracts will be publicly posted at the District Offices and online.

Prospective Bid Packages

After September 1, 2024, the Ottawa National Forest will no longer be sending out mailings of a prospective bidder letter with enclosures. A postcard mailer will be replacing the prospective bidder letter mailing. A sample postcard mailer is below. The mailer will contain the bid opening date, location, time, volume estimates, base rates and advertised rates. The QR Code can be scanned and will take the user to the website listed below to view the complete sale advertisement package. Hard copy information will be available at the District Offices and digital packages will be available online.
