PROHIBITIONS

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(b), the following is prohibited on the National 
Forest System (NFS) roads in the Ontonagon and Kenton Ranger Districts, Ottawa National Forest, 
described in detail below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A 
(the “Described Roads”):

1. Being on the Described Roads. 36 C.F.R. § 261.54(e).

EXEMPTIONS

Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Persons with Forest Service form FS-7700-48, Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas 
Restricted by Regulation or Order, specifically exempting them from this Order or a written 
determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. 
§ 251.50(e)(1) or (2).

2. Any Federal, State, or Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting resource 
in the performance of an official duty. 36 CFR § 261.50(e)(4)

DESCRIBED ROADS

The closure is for the sections of roads as described below and shown on the attached map as 
Exhibit A:

National Forest System Road (NFSR), Forest Highway (FH), Junction (Jct)

1. NFSR 1470: From Jct Pori Road to NFSR 1460
2. NFSR 1460: From Jct NFSR 1470 to NFSR 1100
3. NFSR 1300: From FH 16 to NFSR 2020
4. NFSR 2020: From Jct NFSR 1300 to M28
5. NFSR 3660: From FH 16 to NFSR 3500
6. NFSR 3500: From Jct NFSR 3660 to NFSR 3630
7. NFSR 3630: From Jct NFSR 3500 to FH 16
8. NFSR 4580: From Jct Golden Glow Road to NFSR 4500
9. NFSR 4500: From Jct NFSR4580 to NFSR 3616
10.NFSR 3616: From Jct NFSR 4500 to NFSR 3610
11.NFSR 3610: From Jct NFSR 3616 to NFSR FH 16

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Order is for the protection of public health and safety during the annual Lake 
Superior Performance Rally (LSPR).

IMPLEMENTATION

1. This Order shall be in effect from October 9, 2026, at 08:00 AM (0800) through
October 10, 2026, at 1:00 AM (0100) ET, unless rescinded.

2. A map identifying the Described Roads is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit  A.

3. Unless otherwise expressly defined in this Order, the terms used in this Order are defined by 
the regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture, 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299. If there are 
terms in this Order that are not expressly defined in the Order or 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 
200-299, their meaning shall be determined by their plain language definitions.

4. A violation of the above prohibitions is punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not 
more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment for not more 
than six months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.

5. Contact the Ottawa National Forest Kenton District office in Kenton, (906) 852-3500, and Ottawa 
National Forest Supervisor’s Office in Ironwood, (906) 931-1330, for more information about this 
Order.

6. This Order supersedes any previous Orders prohibiting the same or similar act on
the same Described Roads.
