Final Thursday Evening Program of the Summer: Forest Pests & Diseases
Forest pests and diseases, both native and invasive, area a real challenge for land managers across the board when it comes to keeping forests healthy and productive. From Oak Wilt to Emerald Ash Borer and beyond, certain management practices can be utilized to help mitigate the spread of these unwanted insects and contagions. Ottawa National Forest Silviculturist Sara Vial will discuss signs and symptoms of some of the more common pests and diseases prevalent in our area as well as what can be done to help prevent the spread.
