Manoomin

Manoomin, or wild rice, is a traditional food source of great spiritual and cultural importance for many Great Lakes tribal communities. Lac Vieux Desert tribal member Roger LaBine will discuss the history of Manoomin at Lake Lac Vieux Desert, the restoration efforts undertaken by the tribe to sustain Manoomin, and provide an overview of the tools needed for harvesting and processing this ecologically and culturally significant plant.
