10-04-00-20-09 - Recreational Stay Limits

Pursuant to 36 Code of Federal Regulations 261.50 (a) and (b) the following acts are prohibited:

1. Camping, occupying, using, or leaving any personal items at any one area, campground or site on Chugach National Forest System lands for more than 14 days, during any 30-day period. Any camp relocation within the 30-day period must be at a distance of at least 10 air miles from the previous campsite.
2. Except for the Russian River Campground, where camping is limited to no more than three consecutive days from June 10th until August 20th, unless otherwise posted, and a minimum of 24 hours must pass prior to reentry into the Russian River Campground.
3. Except for Alaganik Recreation Area, where camping is limited to no more than 3 consecutive days during a 7- day period. Any camp relocation within the 7-day period must be at least a distance of 3 air miles.
