Current Conditions

The Chugach National Forest is one of the most "roadless" National Forests in the nation. Many cabins, recreation sites and trails are in secluded and remote areas. Always check the weather forecast, avalanche forecast and recreation sites' closures or alerts before heading out in the backcountry. Additionally, you can call the front desk of any of our offices to help in planning your trip and the most current conditions.
