10-04-00-24-05 - Developed Recreation Sites, Public Use Cabins Prohibitions
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited within the Chugach National Forest:
Cutting any standing tree within 150 feet of a Public Use Cabin, Developed Recreation Site or Administrative Use Site.
Camping, setting up a tent or staying overnight within 300 feet of any Public Recreation Use Cabin, unless they are a member of the registered party for that specific cabin during the permitted dates.
Overnight occupancy of a Public Recreation Use Cabin with more than eight individuals per cabin for each permitted night.
A. Camping and /or occupying any one Public Recreation Use Cabin for a period longer than seven consecutive days by any person or group including but not limited to family members, members of the same household, and members of the same camping party within a 30-day period.
B. Public Use Cabins administered by the Glacier and Seward Ranger Districts as listed below, camping and or occupying a cabin from May 15 to August 31 for a period longer than three consecutive days by any person or group is prohibited. a. Aspen Flats, Barber, Caribou Creek, Crescent Lake, Crescent Saddle, Crow Pass, Dale Clemens, Devil’s Pass, East Creek, Fox Creek, Juneau Lake, Romig, Spencer Bench, Swan Lake, Trail River, Trout Lake, and Upper Russian Lake Cabins.
Being in the area between 10:00 p.m. and 6 a.m. except a person who is camping or who is visiting a person camping in that area.
Hitching, tethering, or hobbling any saddle or pack animal including dog teams, within 200 feet of a Forest Public Use Cabin, established trails, water source, or Developed Recreation Site.
