Seward Ranger District

The Seward Ranger District encompasses the western most 890,000 acres of the Chugach National Forest and is home to most of the Forest’s campgrounds and cabins. Most require a reservation, but you can stay for a night or a week. 

The Seward Ranger District sits on the Eastern Kenai Peninsula and is readily accessible from the Seward Highway skirts Turnagain Arm, a 50-mile-long fiord with extreme tides and “quicksand” mudflats.

Stop and stretch your legs on one of the many trails along the highway. Or use them as a starting point for your personal backcountry adventure. Bring a tent and keep your eyes open for the perfect spot to pitch it.
