To protect the health and safety of forest-users and construction workers, the Palmer Creek Road, including the Coeur d’Alene Campground, will be closed to all public use starting May 1, 2025, until Sep. 30, 2025.
Palmer Creek Road
A 12 mile gravel road climbing from the Hope area to a high valley containing past and present mining activity.
Current Conditions
The Palmer Creek Road will be undergoing major construction. The failing bridge at milepost 9.02 will also be removed and replaced with a concrete bridge. During active construction heavy equipment will be used at the project sites and the road will be impassable and unsafe for forest users.
