Copper River Trail

This is an easy trail, less than a mile long, that follows an old road along the Copper River. Excellent views of the glacier can be seen at several points along the trail. The recreation area includes 4 picnic sites, 5 tent sites, restrooms, bear proof trashcans, parking area, and an accessible viewing platform.

Difficulty: Easy Time: 1 hour (round trip) Use: Heavy This trail follows an old road along the Copper River where excellent views of the glacier can be seen at many sections. The hiker first enters thick vegetation, then parallels the river until reaching the Childs Glacier Recreation Area. 

This recreation area includes: 4 picnic sites (2 covered), 5 tent sites, restrooms, bear proof trashcans, parking areas, and an accessible viewing platform with information panels. There are excellent bird watching opportunities in early summer
