- Abstract:
- This data publication contains snowpack and frost data measured at the Marcell Experimental Forest from 1962–ongoing. These data came from five peatland/upland forest watersheds instrumented for hydrologic monitoring. Frost thickness and snowpack (snow water content, snowpack depth) are measured at 10 snowcourses that encompass three cover types (conifer, deciduous, open). The Marcell Experimental Forest in Itasca County, Minnesota, is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station, and was formally established in 1962 to study the ecology and hydrology of peatlands.
